Cautions about a fast-food worker rally on Canal Street concluded Thursday’s (12.05) City Council Meeting. However, before that point, talk of new kitchens and lounges dominated much of the zoning heavy agenda. Some members of the community expressed their concern of commercial encroachment residential areas. However, the Council still approved zoning changes for Commissary Kitchen at the Riverbend, a parking lot for Volunteers of America in Mid City and an offshoot of Bayou Beer Garden called Bayou Wine Garden caddy corner to the popular patio bar and restaurant.
